If I were to develop a teaching methods course for CS teachers, how to teach debugging would be a two week module. When I attend summer PDs on programming I am amazed by how many teachers do not know simple debugging techniques as putting in Print statements to follow the program flow. Modern IDEs have some useful tools to help but you have to know how to use them. Even using an IDE with good debugging tools is a good strategy. Garthnoreply@blogger.com
