It might be fair to say that without Hedy Lamarr's frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology, wifi, bluetooth and gps couldn't exist as we know them, but she didn't invent them.

I agree with you Michael but I suppose that "invented important enabling technology for ..." wouldn't have fit on the poster as easily. It's a good discussion starter regardless.
