Service Learning in AP CS A

Yet another interesting curriculum program. This one a pilot program by the College Board. Versions of a service oriented curriculum for six AP courses including Advanced Placement Computer Science A. 

imageThe College Board is currently accepting applications for teachers interested in piloting the AP with We.org service modules for AP Computer Science A. These modules have been designed to provide students with authentic and relevant computer science projects with a service focus. For more information and to apply, click on the link below. https://lp.collegeboard.org/ap-we-org-service/apply We will begin piloting AP with WE.org Service with a limited number of teachers in six specific AP courses in the 2016-17 school year. Teachers who apply and are selected will choose a service-learning module, co-developed by the AP Program and Free The Children, that teaches students to apply the content and skills they have learned in their AP class to real-world opportunities that require innovation, creativity, and hard work. The pilot program is available for the following AP courses:
